Description
The comic that outsold Superman — home of the original Captain Marvel.
Whiz Comics #2 (February 1940) introduced the world to Captain Marvel — the boy who became a superhero by shouting "SHAZAM!" Created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck for Fawcett Comics, Captain Marvel outsold Superman throughout the 1940s, making Whiz Comics the most popular superhero anthology of the Golden Age. DC Comics eventually sued Fawcett into submission in 1953, making these original issues irreplaceable pieces of comic history.
