Military Comics launched in August 1941 from Quality Comics and became one of the defining wartime comics of the Golden Age. Home to Blackhawk — the Polish-American ace pilot who led a multinational squadron against the Nazis — it ran 43 issues. Blackhawk became so popular he later had his own DC Comics title running into the 1980s.
